About Hannah

At Cherrywood Tutoring, my approach to education goes far beyond traditional teaching. With a background in Neuroscience, I've dedicated my career to understanding the intricate ways students learn, grow, and develop. My passion lies not just in teaching content, but in empowering students to become confident, curious, and strategic learners.

My educational journey started right here in East Austin at Maplewood Elementary School. Those early years planted the seeds of curiosity and love for learning that would later inspire me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, complemented by a minor in Military Studies from Baylor University. While at Baylor, I was awarded an ROTC Army scholarship and now continue to serve part-time in the U.S. Army Signal Corps Reserves in Dallas, TX.

My academic background in Neuroscience has been instrumental in shaping my tutoring philosophy. I'm deeply committed to creating learning environments rooted in mutual respect, open-mindedness, and individualized support. With over 1,500 tutoring hours, I specialize in multi-sensory teaching approaches and have extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning styles and challenges.

Continuous learning is at the heart of my work. I'm always exploring the latest research in educational methodologies, neuroscience, and learning strategies to ensure my students receive the most effective, cutting-edge support possible. Whether working with students in math, reading, executive functioning, or college preparation, my goal is to help each individual understand not just what to learn, but how to learn.

When I'm not tutoring, you'll find me playing the piano, enjoying time with my wonderful dog Frankie, or spending moments with friends and family. This year brings an exciting personal milestone as I prepare to marry my high school sweetheart, Nathan!

My commitment to education is more than a profession—it's a calling. I look forward to partnering with you and your student on their learning journey.

"I love tutoring so much! Hannah has helped me so much through the school year and through the summer. Executive functioning has helped me be able to manage my time and assignments, and give me tools to succeed this upcoming school year. Math hasn’t been one of my strong suits, but with the help of tutoring I feel ready to roll this year!

Hannah is one of my favorite people! I love what she's been able to help me accomplish and assist me through learning new curriculum."
